Vintage ladies step card—Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #2—and a glimpse in my workroom

It's the second challenge at the new Craft Hoarders Anonymous blog and I'm playing along with this card. The theme is Let's See That Hoard!. You're to take the thing you hoard most and use it in the color scheme shown (shades of blue). Ha! Didn't take me long to decide that one; vintage paper ephemera is my weakness, with ribbon a close second. This card has both.

The original image used here is in bad shape. It has torn edges and a large scratch down the lady in blue's dress. I scanned the image, repaired the scratch, and printed a copy to use on this card. I added the sentiment from my computer. I don't know this image's date, but I'd guess 1880's or thereabouts, given the bustle style of their dresses.

I've used some of my favorite embellishments with this card. I've used five of these little blue rose buds and I only have one pack (sigh).

And this fleur de lys ... it's from the States. I've got a few left, but when they're gone it's not like I can run out and buy more. Same for the metal photos corners. These are the last two I have like this. Oh well, what good are our pretties if we never use them?

On the inside back of the card I placed the interior sentiment.

I thought I'd take the suggestion Let's See That Hoard! literally. This is just a fraction of the old books residing in my workroom. This doesn't take into account the filing cabinet of single pieces and the drawers full of old magazines. I had to take my mannequin Esmeralda—Essie for short—off of her base so I'd still have space for my books (she doesn't mind, she say's it makes her feel tall).

I'm also entering this card in the {Pin}spirational Challenge #95 Anything Goes.
