Coffee Lover Male Just Because digital stamp card idea – and where to find affordable cutting dies

This is a Just Because card that could work for a guy or a gal, don't you think? It's not always easy to come up with Just Because for guys. I really love this DigiStamp Boutique Coffee Tea Chocolate set; it's got lots of images and super sentiments suitable for just about anyone and any occasion (like this tea lover card, another made with the same set). But, unfortunately, it's retired so I've got no link to give you where to buy it. Boo hoo. However, to make up for that check out the super cute FREE Coffee Shop digital Coffee paper pack, perfect with any coffee stamps lingering around in your stash. While you're on Rita's site, have a look around, she has several beautifully designed freebies.

I liked the paper so much I decided to forgo coloring the stamp and paper pieced it, making for a super quick, but super cute, card. The paper and image give such impact it didn't need much embellishment, still I sprinkled on a few enamel dots for a touch of texture and a kind of coffee beanish look.

The stitched circular cutting die is from a very affordable line I've discovered on Amazon and eBay. It won't surprise you to learn they're from China, right? I didn't think so. They sell under the brand name La Cabina on Amazon France, but I've noticed are sold under various and sundry names on Amazon USA/UK and eBay. This set of eight circular stack dies was only €5.89 including shipping (prices are less in the USA). I tried out a few just to see, not expecting much, but have been pleasantly surprised; they cut very, very well. Their customer service is good, too (at least for these I bought through Amazon). I had a problem with one of my orders, sent a message and they got back to me the same day with a solution. I used the rectangle set on this recent Valentine's Day card.

  3. Oh, dang girl! That is definitely cute! Love the punny sentiment, your addition of the enamel dots look like beans and best of all for me is the simplicity of the design! You have let it ride on the wonderful image, the supportive DP and the simple details of the stitching and coffee colored bling. I really admire your ability to execute a range successfully from CAS to super detailed and layered!

  5. Oh my, Shani....you've taken me on quite a roller coaster ride today, my friend. I was so excited by your wonderful card....and so very excited about your tip about the inexpensive dies that I spent some time poking around on various Amazon and Ebay sites (coz none of the Canadian sites have them, of course). I was getting very pouty because I was seeing a lot of "this item doesn't ship to Canada" messages when I finally found one that did. Yay! Popped 6 dies in my cart, hit the estimate your shipping and tax button....and nearly spit Diet Coke on my computer screen. $150 to ship to Canada. Geez, I live in Canada, not The Shire.

Anyhoo, I'll quit hijacking your post....your card is aces, and I'll keep searching for those fab-priced dies - thanks for the tip! :0)

  7. Shani, I know a few guys who couldn't face their day without coffee and so this card would be perfect for any of them. The background Designer Paper really compliments your stamped images. I think paper piecing the stamped images instead of colouring them was brilliant and really makes them "pop". Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
