It's time to get your Jingle on Christmas card

Christmas card featuring It's time to get your Jingle on From the Heart digital stamp, by Paperesse.

This card features From the Heart's Jingle Bell Birdbrain Chick digital stamp and sentiment. I enjoy From the Heart stamps; they are cute and humorous and touching, all at the same time – like this very French Mustache Birdbrain birthday card (one of my favorite digital stamps), or this VW Snowman Christmas card. These stamps always bring a smile to my face, as I'm sure they do my card recipients.

Recently, I was in the mood for some new stamps and visited the From the Heart website. It was there that I learned From the Heart's owner/designer, Faith Skrdla, passed away last summer. I know that her designs touched – and will continue to touch – a lot of cardmakers out there. I am saddened by her passing. My heart goes out to her family.

The Christmas patterned paper on this card is long retired (like the majority of my Christmas paper). The center die-cut is a new no-brand Chinese one, as is the circular border. I like the border, but am less pleased with the center one. I think there's too much space between the layers, which is why I filled in the red layer with a pearl marker.

Supply List
Paper – cardstock, patterned paper
Digital stamp – From the Heart Jingle Bell Birdbrain Chick
Color – Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils
Dies – No-brand Chinese center and border dies
Embellishments – pearl marker

  2. Another unique design for you! Love how you have everything squared up except the one layer set on an angle - that is the kind of creative take that I really like in your designs! Blending and shading is spot on for your image! I think you are right about the mat being to big for the image panel - but your solution of the Pearl Pen is perfect. It filled in the open space, emphasized the frame for the image and added a perfect lush shine as an embellishment! Another winner my friend!

Such a wonderful card! Your solution to the matting issue is very clever and that circle border is awesome.

  7. I wasn't familiar with the digital company, but am saddened to learn of the owner's passing.

That is a fun sentiment. A pearl pen--before reading your post I thought you placed pearls all around the die cut!
