Prettygrafik's Polar Bear Joy Christmas Card

I saw a card with an aperture design on Pinterest and I liked it. 'I ought to get a die like that,' I thought. And then realized...duh, I have one, I just never use it. Well, that's not true, I've used it one time, on this Fleece Navidad card

I much prefer it as a window of sorts for my character to sit in, like this image from Prettygrafik's polar bear set, (a great price at only $0.99 for several digis). I used another image from the set on this polar bear step card; I guess I'm getting my money's worth.

To mimic snow, I decided to use this dotted embossing folder on the white front. I can't remember the last time I used it – or any other embossing folder for that matter – but I was so inspired by Jan's beautiful winter birthday card, I thought I'd dust it off and put it to use. Mine didn't turn out as pretty as hers (my dots aren't so clearly defined), but it looks nice 'in person' and gave the effect I wanted. The snowflake balloon and joy sentiment are dies from Sizzix's Festive set, a recent acquisition.
