Have a SPEC-tacular Birthday card

This card I whipped up for a friend features the Cheers to You Ladies digital stamp from Pattie's Creations. I love the specs on these ladies. But, hold on...are sunglasses considered spectacles? I hadn't really thought about that when I came up with the idea for this card.

To be sure, I looked up the definition for spectacles and it says, "...a pair of glasses for correcting defective vision. Often (informal) shortened to: specs." So...in case you're wondering, all three of these ladies are wearing corrective vision transition eyeglasses. Specs it is!

I've had this Artemio eyeglasses die for the longest time. I picked it up for a song in my favorite outlet shop. I was glad to finally use it. That long strip down the middle is a no-brand die set I bought last year. These extra long dies cut strips the length of a slimline card, which is the reason I bought them, thinking they'd be nice decoration in lieu of ribbon. Although I used one small strip on the bottom edge of this masculine windsurfer card and to give a bit of color inside a card at the bottom of the sentiment page, I've yet to use them on a slimline card.

Paper is from a pad I picked up in a grocery store discount bin. Enamel dots give a decorative touch. Sentiment was created with Annie BTN font.

  7. Wonderful card, Shani! The papers are so pretty and I love the punny sentiment, of course! The die cut specs are the perfect touch. I used to have a pair of prescription sunglasses....so specs can be sunglasses too! (:
