Penguin Trio Holiday Card

So, how are you with your Christmas cards? The fact that I even ask should be an indication that I'm a wee bit behind. This is pretty much par for the course for me, except for one year a few years back, when I made a New Year's Resolution to do one Christmas card a week. I stuck to that resolution (with exceptions for vacation weeks) and had them all done with some to spare by September (I only need about 26). Suffice it to say no such resolution was made this year and here I am in November with only seven done, including this one. Oops. I really think there ought to be more time between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Add to that several friend/family birthdays in October, November and December and you see why I am at this stage. Ah well, I'll save the French ones for last. In France, most people send out meilleurs vœux cards (best wishes) that actually go after Christmas and apply for the new year, so if French recipients receive them after Christmas, then they're not late. Voila !

Today's card features a cute little Penguin Trio digi from the now defunct Bugaboo stamps (sighhhhh). I miss Bugaboo; she had some great humorous stamps and those are hard to find (like the one on this Christmas Crabby Cat card). Paper is Studio Light Winter Joys paper pad. For embellishments, my ric-rac die strikes again! Along with some sparkly White Blizzard Nuvo Crystal Drops on the digi snowflake centers (unfortunately, they don't show up well in the photo).

Supply List

Digital stamp – Bugaboo Penguin Trio
Dies – no-brand stitched rectangle and square dies, Crafter's Companion Gemini Fancy Borders ric-rac

  10. Delightful card, Shani! I love the fun design and digi. The colours are wonderful too! I think it's cool that in France most cards are sent as happy wishes for the New Year. I think it's more inclusive to those who don't celebrate Christmas, plus it's a nice to receive an after-the-hustle-and-bustle-of-Christmas greeting. (:

  12. Your little trio is adorable!! The red ric-rac is a striking touch with all the blue. My penpal (in France) always sends me a meilleurs vœux card - but I always thought the best wishes were for Christmas. I'm sure they are although appreciated the little lesson in seasonal French cards!
