Hetty Clare Art Birthday Cake Mouse Digi Birthday Card & LRW #689

It's Jan's turn to choose the theme at Little Red Wagon today and she's chosen 'Happy, Happy Birthday'. Click on over to see what the other girlfriends have created and linkup your birthday papercraft creation.

My contribution is this birthday card, which is also card #3 of the hostess gift set I recently made (Joyeux Anniversaire = Happy Birthday). It features Hetty Clare Art's Birthday Cake Mouse digi. All four cards/gift bag in this set use Hetty Clare images (here are #1 and #2).

I used my no-brand ragged edge dies, creating thicker layers by gluing the paper die-cuts to cardboard die-cuts. I was going for a pyramid/3D look (like this pink rose pyramid/3D card I did long, long ago – warning radical style change there! It's not quite the same look, but I do like how it turned out. I hardly ever use double stick adhesive foam tape anymore. Cardboard from Amazon boxes, food packaging, package inserts, etc. works a charm! For specifics on this technique, see this Mice & Cheese birthday card

Paper is from The Paper Studio Mirabelle paper pad (longggggg retired). The sentiment was created with Amelie font. I dressed it up with a little wooden heart.
