I was so pleased. I love Artoz papers, but since they're a wee bit pricy I've only ever bought a sheet at a time. The sentiment was created with Annie BTN font. Black matt enamel dots are the finishing touch.</p><p> I was hesitant to use these matt dots as they're my favorite (they don't shine in photos) and I'm running out; unfortunately, nothing else looked as good. I checked on Amazon to reorder and the price has increased 190%!!! When I last ordered a pack in 2017 they were €4.05; today they're €11.77 (about $12.90 at today's rate of exchange). And that's just one small pack. Yeah, I do like them, but I don't know if I like them THAT much. I didn't order them.</p><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px; text-align: justify;"><u>Supply List<br /></u>Paper – cardstock, Artoz<br />Digital stamp – Di's Digi Stamps Easter Friends<br />Dies – Die-namics square stax<br />Embellishments – matt enamel dots<br />Font – Annie BTN<br />Caran d'Ache Luminance 901 pencils<br />Art-n-Fly white pen</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;">Unipin .05 black fine line pen</span></div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><br /></span></div><div style="background-color: white; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px; text-align: justify;"><span style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #333333;">I'm linking up with the following challenges: </span><a href="https://disdigidesignschallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #bf9000;">Di's Digi Designs Challenge 15/03</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – Welcome Spring, </span><a href="https://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #bf9000;">Allsorts Week 772</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – Feathers and/or Fur, </span><a href="https://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #bf9000;">Polkadoodles Wk 11</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – ATG, </span><a href="https://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #bf9000;">Sweet Stampin' 16/03</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> –Easter, </span><a href="https://creativefingerschallengeblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #bf9000;">Creative Fingers #273</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – ATG, and </span><a href="https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #bf9000;">Daring Cardmakers 15/03</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – Spring is in the Air.</span></span></div>Paperessehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14662870079396330252noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2548020806689963627.post-52504925945070415012024-03-14T22:19:00.002+01:002024-03-14T22:19:34.758+01:00Happy Spring Card With Pink Gem Bunny in a Plant Pot Digi<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOJwyuP4QZj7hBBD9jUXm2wBiwC4w-LPTUflVg38K8SfYu0Z1ZCcEI-socHHE276fA3cX35CJP2ArsigIAFIwGX-XBIlGx_EukKMdeeBSNB11Abzm1uj9S_X-0qs4_IW3I0xbSSDe-UN5w9KziMby_YOM3uvZvGl-SjpaG129ySQ6MxtaiXPv1UafjcXjI/s1769/BUNNYPLANTFRONT.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="A Happy Spring/Easter card with Pink Gem Bunny in a Plant Pot digi, colored with Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils, by Paperesse." border="0" data-original-height="1769" data-original-width="1552" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOJwyuP4QZj7hBBD9jUXm2wBiwC4w-LPTUflVg38K8SfYu0Z1ZCcEI-socHHE276fA3cX35CJP2ArsigIAFIwGX-XBIlGx_EukKMdeeBSNB11Abzm1uj9S_X-0qs4_IW3I0xbSSDe-UN5w9KziMby_YOM3uvZvGl-SjpaG129ySQ6MxtaiXPv1UafjcXjI/w562-h640/BUNNYPLANTFRONT.jpg" width="562" /></a></div><p>This is actually a multi-tasking Spring/Easter card. Since I have no idea anymore how long my overseas cards will take to arrive (anywhere from a week to a month plus), I'm being more creative with my inside sentiments so that if they do arrive late, they're still appropriate. Things like, 'Happy Spring! Here's hoping you have/had a Happy Easter, too.' The present tense/past tense verb combo covers both Easter bases and by wishing a happy spring I know at least it will still be spring when they get it (probably). I'm trying to plan ahead as well and get cards done earlier, but that's a work in progress.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhurUPI_uG6Al4N74CgtbKT43pyjHmZIVphLq80HmSnJmNIPXuvbmW_m0oxeufd7hvZ8ztmhbDQ088jepz3ut7bZ80CjEUBvyEX1fpZgajCqPGVSpwLDqLI2UM3I0c_y9pyozBe-hTPQBcKl9JE1SAfMuZH6u8H0YK07VCjG3r-mP0RrC1glUq-9SlhvM4W/s2284/BUNNYPLANTDETAIL.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2217" data-original-width="2284" height="622" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhurUPI_uG6Al4N74CgtbKT43pyjHmZIVphLq80HmSnJmNIPXuvbmW_m0oxeufd7hvZ8ztmhbDQ088jepz3ut7bZ80CjEUBvyEX1fpZgajCqPGVSpwLDqLI2UM3I0c_y9pyozBe-hTPQBcKl9JE1SAfMuZH6u8H0YK07VCjG3r-mP0RrC1glUq-9SlhvM4W/w640-h622/BUNNYPLANTDETAIL.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>I've used my Studio Light Die Essentials 257 small card/envelope die set for this card. I really like this set and have been using it a lot lately (e.g. this <a href="https://www.paperesse.com/2024/01/polkadoodles-bella-bear-delivering.html" style="color: #d5a6bd;" target="_blank"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">Bella Bear Christmas card</span></a>). I like it's smaller size and the quick, easy envelope die that comes with it (I forgot to photograph the envelope here...darn!). I picked this up last year at my favorite outlet shop for only €3.99. No doubt about it, I'm getting my money's worth out of it.</p><p>The digi is Pink Gem's <a href="https://www.etsy.com/dk-en/listing/499172370/digi-stamp-bunny-in-plant" target="_blank"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">Bunny in a Plant Pot</span></a>. Today, however, I'm going to do a post for something I don't like. Because frankly, I'm a bit ticked.</p><p>I bought this Towbow Glue Pen recently thinking it would be great for gluing down small, intricate die-cuts. I thought it would be easier than my standard gluing procedure in these cases, which is carefully applying Aleene's Tacky Glue with a toothpick.</p><p>Normally, I like Tombow products (I use this <a href="https://www.paperesse.com/2019/08/whats-best-eraser-to-use-with-colored.html" target="_blank">Monozero eraser </a>all the time) and had high hopes for this pen. I was actually surprised NOT to like it. The problem with it is...it doesn't glue. You apply the glue with the pen point, you can see it there looking wet, but before you apply it to whatever paper you're gluing it to, it looks dry, as if it's been absorbed into the paper itself. I've tried applying more, thinking maybe I just didn't apply enough. Same difference; it just doesn't glue. At all.</p><p>I thought it might be the paper I was using, but I've tried it on several types and weights all with the same result...it doesn't stick. Candidly, it's worthless and going to the recycle bin. A complete waste of €7.00. </p><p>To sum it up, IMHO if you're thinking about buying this pen, save yourself some money and don't.</p>Paperessehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14662870079396330252noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2548020806689963627.post-77708963401449424532024-03-08T17:41:00.003+01:002024-03-08T18:33:07.719+01:00International Women's Day 2024<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl7179oK4X4Xf8NR6N2xwvPmXUQyGLEwQPAusMTIS1NKQgXb61QZ6YjXFDbMGoljd9mkHcpg92MseK_MgB6890z781W0ZVsZMYRgxr_LG4yc9-3BJ37tbjA7FDs1T0UZMIBJejn87C_cX_plc8mlNbMN0yTbHg5bRidKFmYA8jW08WVzMoa25Q3WUz-UMU/s1129/INT%20WOMEN%20DAY%2024.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="644" data-original-width="1129" height="366" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl7179oK4X4Xf8NR6N2xwvPmXUQyGLEwQPAusMTIS1NKQgXb61QZ6YjXFDbMGoljd9mkHcpg92MseK_MgB6890z781W0ZVsZMYRgxr_LG4yc9-3BJ37tbjA7FDs1T0UZMIBJejn87C_cX_plc8mlNbMN0yTbHg5bRidKFmYA8jW08WVzMoa25Q3WUz-UMU/w640-h366/INT%20WOMEN%20DAY%2024.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;">From goodgoodgood.co, '<a href="https://www.goodgoodgood.co/articles/feminist-quotes" target="_blank">82 Best Feminist Quotes from Inspiring Women</a>'</span></td></tr></tbody></table><p>We've made progress, but we still have a whole lot to do. I've decided to spread a little colored pencil love and share some of my coloring techniques. If you have a specific colored pencil question you'd like to see answered, let me know in the comments.</p><p>Let's start with first things first...let's say you just got yourself a brand new box of pencils and are itching to go (and I really hope you chose good blendable pencils and not hard watercolor ones 'cause those ain't gonna work on a digi). What are the first two things you can do to make your pencil coloring easier? </p><p><u>#1. Make a color chart of all your pencil colors. </u></p><p>'But I already have the color chart that came with them!', you say. </p><p>It's not the same, trust me. The manufacturer printed color charts give you an <i>idea</i> of the color, but they do not reflect the<i> true</i> color you will see when using the pencil. You will even probably have to do two charts. Take all your pencils and do a swatch showing more intense color to lighter color – to let you see each color's range. You can see in my chart above (courtesy of<a href="courtesy of MysticSparkleWings on Deviant Ar" target="_blank"> MysticSparkleWings at Deviant Art</a>) how I did this. Then, once you have your first chart done, you can see which colors belong together. Write your findings on a separate piece of paper. By doing this you will know which pencils can blend within a color range and have them in close proximity to one another when choosing which colors you want to use. Take your written notes and do another, final, chart showing your colors in this new order. I can tell you right now, my final Luminance color chart is nothing like the company's printed chart. Which brings us to the second most important thing...</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcYtQv4nAimJVXS3bFZCazSMDseky8wJ1QOHQgBlP4D0cn1H854kFMJctwHE9cLZTBggHXl7vkrEJtRA-giYfPhyB1fYRno4MQlcXwjdcBJjbVfWRBeNFa5dVR_3lFHRj64yUfcva1sDWLp8OXohLt1YIJ5RJf7WsjeLkchq00_lrYRyH4FGxF9xF1Hc3j/s1667/IMG_20240213_210621_edit_342548934022728.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1012" data-original-width="1667" height="388" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcYtQv4nAimJVXS3bFZCazSMDseky8wJ1QOHQgBlP4D0cn1H854kFMJctwHE9cLZTBggHXl7vkrEJtRA-giYfPhyB1fYRno4MQlcXwjdcBJjbVfWRBeNFa5dVR_3lFHRj64yUfcva1sDWLp8OXohLt1YIJ5RJf7WsjeLkchq00_lrYRyH4FGxF9xF1Hc3j/w640-h388/IMG_20240213_210621_edit_342548934022728.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p><u>#2. Arrange your pencils according to your color chart.</u></p><p>You will save yourself a <i>whole</i> lot of time finding blendable pencils if you have them lined up next to each other as shown on your chart (you can see more about the pencil case I use <a href="https://www.paperesse.com/2021/12/whats-best-way-to-store-coloring-pencils.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.)</p><p>When I started using my pencils again, I discovered Caran d'Ache had added 24 new pencil colors to the Luminance line (yeah!). I purchased the pencils, did my color charts, and arranged them accordingly in my case.</p><p>This is a bit of work, I admit (especially if you have a lot of pencils), but these two important steps will make your coloring<i> so</i> much easier.</p>Paperessehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14662870079396330252noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2548020806689963627.post-90568173333026639792024-02-14T19:39:00.000+01:002024-02-14T19:39:33.849+01:00Valentine's Day card with Di's Digi Stamps Have the Micest Day Digi<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkxZmg7JBRTT2PrZgzbl8uNa4XyQwIgv2VmcVlZKEkwSfSUu4c-WxK9ic37fi3EBN5kZrAKD5ORqv1V-S4Vt4aVkGFhuIlkiqLTu5do0LURCE9FveNq2XeoebxVB3L6vVWPzkPoHQaLRbEwHYCtiSNBS2ti0iVMai5qAvSWcG_KCTo38ICIGpOzlPHEp2e/s1789/LOVEVALENTINEFRONT.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Valentine's Day card with Di's Digi Stamps Have the Micest Day digi, colored with Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse." border="0" data-original-height="1692" data-original-width="1789" height="606" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkxZmg7JBRTT2PrZgzbl8uNa4XyQwIgv2VmcVlZKEkwSfSUu4c-WxK9ic37fi3EBN5kZrAKD5ORqv1V-S4Vt4aVkGFhuIlkiqLTu5do0LURCE9FveNq2XeoebxVB3L6vVWPzkPoHQaLRbEwHYCtiSNBS2ti0iVMai5qAvSWcG_KCTo38ICIGpOzlPHEp2e/w640-h606/LOVEVALENTINEFRONT.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>Happy Valentine's Day! This card is going to a guy, but it could just as easily be for a gal. Fed up with force-fed ads and unwanted pins, not being able to easily identify and see only the pins of the people I was following (and I still don't like that btw), I pulled the plug on Pinterest and deleted my account.</p><p>Fast forward to this month...googling my blog (curious to see if I show up) I realized more of my cards/projects/posts show up as Pinterest pins with links back to Pinterest, than direct links to my blog. These Pinterest links normally show the original blog link, which makes me wonder if Pinterest may be driving more traffic to my blog than Google.</p><p>I don't publish Paperesse for any monetary gain, it's just for fun, BUT I have to admit that if I'm going to all the trouble to create, photograph my creations, write a post, and actually publish it, I want other like minded folks to be able to find it, hence my reappearance on Pinterest.</p><p>Happy Pinning!</p>Paperessehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14662870079396330252noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2548020806689963627.post-25474990520946346582024-01-24T22:46:00.004+01:002024-03-11T21:16:46.965+01:00Polkadoodles Happy Snowman Holiday Card<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQBSUz6sT57n7X1mtCW84fPTUVZNVz-gifqcV0JnQRE9hJhoTPjYA82Fs-oGCW4aUBGcaLrAqEMDIUJKC_Sg8jHQaRtY2zHpRmGQz1vxV1RKEPLmlVFZcBq9La4qXWkHHwoHtzRMnewFDiQcb_GxCLVDGJc3oupa2qbgovOqK1iey5mwNHup2QYm7xnkd7/s1530/smallsnowmanfront.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Christmas card –Polkadoodles Happy Snowmen Couple digital stamp focal point. I spent the weekend making a updated color chart and am very pleased with the new shades, especially the fleshy tones and a much missed Dark Indigo.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguBrC0iQBpKxPhH3dftw6Xqg4gIvyhEb4J2cfY3COTgwvOwNM4wv2Ehw5oo8EEkxNv0h3CsOcnJ3zrY7uCyca-qVWg6bu74OpkqFOxPokWkXSWtN6tdRXd3cO3Y1dWm2BYSkO4xntejbGthtrVvGd70kaYt08qxwiGYfaUH2Bh3eE5rawGMA59pAu6g6aj/s2666/IMG_20240112_142325.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2091" data-original-width="2666" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguBrC0iQBpKxPhH3dftw6Xqg4gIvyhEb4J2cfY3COTgwvOwNM4wv2Ehw5oo8EEkxNv0h3CsOcnJ3zrY7uCyca-qVWg6bu74OpkqFOxPokWkXSWtN6tdRXd3cO3Y1dWm2BYSkO4xntejbGthtrVvGd70kaYt08qxwiGYfaUH2Bh3eE5rawGMA59pAu6g6aj/w640-h502/IMG_20240112_142325.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>If you're not familiar with Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils I'll tell you a little bit about them. They're some of the best on the market, and even if they're not cheap, as I've learned the hard way they're always cheaper than an alcohol marker! What sets them apart are their pigments, which have been chosen for their purity, color intensity and UV resistance. Luminance pencils have the highest lightfastness of about any colored pencil on the market. That's not such an important quality for me, as I'm not overly worried about archival quality digistamp coloring, it's their texture and blendability I like, plus the fact that I can easily find them close to me (something I cannot do with alcohol markers). </p><p>Another plus is the wood used in Luminance pencils (no plastic here!). It is cut from California Cedar trees and carries the FSC label (Forest Stewardship Council). This label guarantees logging is friendly to the environment and meets the highest social and economic standards. Caran d'Ache is a rarity in the world of colored pencil manufacturing that it has obtained this label for its pencils. This label applies not only for the wood used, but also for its conversion in the company's workshops here in Geneva. And that's another thing...locally made! Gotta love that, too!!!</p><p>I'm very pleased to be using my colored pencils again and can't wait to try out these new colors.</p><p>Oh, and if you're in the Geneva area and would like to buy a set of Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers, let me know, I have a complete set I'll sell you.😊</p>Paperessehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14662870079396330252noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2548020806689963627.post-21398126692672303422024-01-14T14:33:00.005+01:002024-03-11T21:19:46.954+01:00What are French Holiday/Christmas Cards Like & When Are They Sent?<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ2LVUkIGiGsVYnjpm0C67k6e5wc9mDOOaGJq2gjsXZojHIKKd6gSAGWgyTomMoejPj-POOxvG4Id5AtYVaMukhKQUsfxfeib8HjFnEoXAZMhV_w8F-R9kPOm-qZtsB5nMgwB1fRVAayfYOGJmH0waVu_AH4kxNpb256byKPWVtjPNWrN43iP3BrUPn5JR/s1530/3penguinsfront.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Holiday greeting card with French sentiment and Hetty Clare's Christmas Penguins digital stamp as the focal point, colored with Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse." border="0" data-original-height="1530" data-original-width="1272" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ2LVUkIGiGsVYnjpm0C67k6e5wc9mDOOaGJq2gjsXZojHIKKd6gSAGWgyTomMoejPj-POOxvG4Id5AtYVaMukhKQUsfxfeib8HjFnEoXAZMhV_w8F-R9kPOm-qZtsB5nMgwB1fRVAayfYOGJmH0waVu_AH4kxNpb256byKPWVtjPNWrN43iP3BrUPn5JR/w532-h640/3penguinsfront.jpg" width="532" /></a></div><p>This is the first of my three last 2023 holiday cards. Before I tell you more about it, I thought you might like to know what end of the year holiday card giving in France is like.</p><p>In France, we primarily send cards for the new year rather than Christmas, which means my <i>Meilleurs Voeux</i> cards have all of January to arrive without being considered late, hence the reason I do them last. Indeed, they are traditionally mailed <i>after</i> New Year's day. <i>Meilleurs Voeux</i> means 'best wishes' and is our standard greeting card sentiment this time of year. There are specifically <i>Noël</i> (Christmas) cards, but they aren't sent as often and have a more religious connotation, which a large part of France is not; it is a much more secular society than in the US. You also should not wish anyone <i>Bonne Année</i> (Happy New Year) before midnight on the 31st of December, it's a big no-no. Which is to say the standard American 'Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year' sentiment is not used here. If you're definitely mailing your card after the 1st of January, there are <i>Bonne Année </i>cards one can send as well.</p><p>This card (like the other two coming up) was hand delivered to one of my neighbors. I chose the small card/envelope die I used for this <a href="https://www.paperesse.com/2023/03/lrw-694-and-lady-bug-encouragementget.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #f1c232;">lady bug card and envelope</span></a> back in March. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkvoxcuqOqh2mVE6Xwxjv10BdtpP8P7DY7LINRkrhmrL6URhlHtKrJSyoxTS6x6NzzEEJDZe7E6EbFauCGv8hxEZqOyeOyjhpDunRrG03TZixBdScg2Hp-FEfuo6LRX48xCrU7qR5mx5BiYIoLq_eDT_JSTdMXQJW5ya1nAP89LbNoaZX_Jw-R_61esIjo/s3211/3penguinsedetail.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3211" data-original-width="2736" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkvoxcuqOqh2mVE6Xwxjv10BdtpP8P7DY7LINRkrhmrL6URhlHtKrJSyoxTS6x6NzzEEJDZe7E6EbFauCGv8hxEZqOyeOyjhpDunRrG03TZixBdScg2Hp-FEfuo6LRX48xCrU7qR5mx5BiYIoLq_eDT_JSTdMXQJW5ya1nAP89LbNoaZX_Jw-R_61esIjo/w546-h640/3penguinsedetail.jpg" width="546" /></a></div><p style="text-align: justify;">I colored up <span style="font-family: EB Garamond;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 16.5px;"><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/866581969/christmas-penguins-digital-download-both?ref=shop_home_active_16&pro=1" target="_blank"><span style="color: #f1c232;">Hetty Clare's Christmas Penguins digi</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> </span></span></span>with my Caran d'Ache Luminance pencils and was reminded in doing so, how much easier it is to color in very small spaces with pencils than markers. I always go in them, even if I don't speak German (they make me wish I did). In a Bider & Tanner shop I picked up two big origami paper blocks – the paper size is small as are the prints, making them perfect for cards. The paper here is from the <a href="https://www.emf-verlag.de/weihnachten-advent/mal-und-bastelbuecher/333-origami-colorful-christmas/978-3-7459-1308-8" style="color: #cc0000;" target="_blank">EMF 333 Origami Colorful Christmas</a> block<span style="color: #cc0000;">. </span>The sentiment was created with DJB Coffee Shoppe Espresso font. A nice thing about this digi is it's bilingual; it works well for English or French!</p><p>As with the first card I added a line to the digi to help ground Santa and delineate the wall. <span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px;">Tim Holtz's Sizzix Drip Edge die mimics dripping paint; </span>a no-brand border strip, my ric-rac die and some enamel dots dress it up. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEUo9ApfImEJ7vV_TeVx-wmaTwBrdrDP9klJicwO57mzdvt04ZNM3RmwkO71VVZVeAp-35jcNir4DCvedcQcOsZpaxjelnJLuWsT0tdETmYqODyvUZMRPG_vK6w8PKFiAweQGKE18S6Lo4mhMpKER67cYBrgdT95pQVXgZL4WqJb2dTVUsw0YtXXw9t_dM/s2736/BANKSYSANTADETAIL.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2528" data-original-width="2736" height="592" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEUo9ApfImEJ7vV_TeVx-wmaTwBrdrDP9klJicwO57mzdvt04ZNM3RmwkO71VVZVeAp-35jcNir4DCvedcQcOsZpaxjelnJLuWsT0tdETmYqODyvUZMRPG_vK6w8PKFiAweQGKE18S6Lo4mhMpKER67cYBrgdT95pQVXgZL4WqJb2dTVUsw0YtXXw9t_dM/w640-h592/BANKSYSANTADETAIL.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>The bright paper is new from this year's <i>Mode & Travaux</i> magazine's 2023 special Noel paper issue.</p><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px;"><u>Supply List<br /></u>Paper – cardstock, <i style="color: black; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium;">Mode & Travaux</i><span style="color: black; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium;"> magazine 2023 Noel paper issue</span><br />Digital stamp – Dr. Digi's Banksy Claus </div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px;">Dies – Die-namics square stax, Tim Holtz Sizzix Drip Edge die, no-brand border, Gemini Fancy Borders ric-rac<br />Embellishments – enamel dots<br />Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px;">Art-n-Fly white pen</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px;"><br /></div><div style="background-color: white; font-family: "EB Garamond"; font-size: 16.5px;"><span style="color: #333333;">I'm linking up with: </span><a href="https://pinkgemchallengeblog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc0000;">A Gem of a Challenge Wk 1</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – ATG, </span><a href="https://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Allsorts Week 762</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – ATG, </span><a href="https://craftycalendarchallenge.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Crafty Calendar January '24</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – ATG, </span><a href="https://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc0000;">Polkadoodles Wk 1</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – ATG, and </span><a href="https://snarkystampers.blogspot.com/2024/01/soss-246-n-is-for-new.html?sc=1704585148671#c9192348774657561889" target="_blank"><span style="color: #cc0000;">SOSS #246</span></a><span style="color: #333333;"> – N is for New.</span></div>Paperessehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14662870079396330252noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2548020806689963627.post-42636983644033172102024-01-04T22:38:00.012+01:002024-01-04T23:11:13.044+01:002023 Paperesse Yearly Retrospective<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSsrBjmu1oocamdJJvIdaMYMnTF60WkBysCMoowiYF_lgs6qakwFwixjbnsocgWZEvI0vFz2dWhr5B0bjnMk2nZdwysBTqz_8_d8tlUKWEc9PXGtMFs-i5OFm7gu-vbD-fsYYGTH63f6id6Pm3PLzoemxPLQwufocD5pjgqqZd_MGsSjzPhIi4dIi13D35/s2000/2023%20Retrospective.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2000" data-original-width="2000" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSsrBjmu1oocamdJJvIdaMYMnTF60WkBysCMoowiYF_lgs6qakwFwixjbnsocgWZEvI0vFz2dWhr5B0bjnMk2nZdwysBTqz_8_d8tlUKWEc9PXGtMFs-i5OFm7gu-vbD-fsYYGTH63f6id6Pm3PLzoemxPLQwufocD5pjgqqZd_MGsSjzPhIi4dIi13D35/w640-h640/2023%20Retrospective.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Welcome to 2023's Paperesse Yearly Retrospective! With each new year, I like to look back over the previous year and choose a favorite monthly post. It's not necessarily a project I <i>made</i> in each month, but one I <i>posted</i> that month (just in case you see the '2022' copyright info on the first photo and think 'What gives?'). And you might notice there are only nine photos instead of twelve this year, which is explained by my three month paper crafting break. </div></div><p>For more information on any project shown – digis, supplies used, etc. – the link will take you back to the original post.</p><p>Thank you for reading Paperesse and for all your kind comments throughout the year.</p><p>1. The bold lines on Prettygrafik stamps make them easier to fussy cut and I tend to use them for that (e.g. this <a href="https://www.paperesse.com/2021/12/happy-holidays-card-with-crealies-happy.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #e69138;">Happy Holidays dapper penguin</span></a>).
