Italy's oldest paper shop in Venice, Italy

When you think of Venice paper is not the first thing you think of. But you ought to. Did you know that Italy's oldest paper store is in Venice?

Since 1851 Legatoria Piazzesi has been making books and paper.

Unfortunately, it was closed when I was there. I took this photo and looked wistfully in the window.

I did however stop in Il Papiro. They're a small chain of Italian shops selling handmade Italian papers, journals, and all sorts of lovely things a Paperesse like me has trouble resisting. I gave in and bought this small variety pack.

Coming to a card somewhere near you soon!
