Bring on the Bling—Gypsy Rose birthday card

Simple cards are tough for me. It's like cleaning house. You see a crumb on the floor somewhere. You bend down to pick it up and then you see another one.  And you can't just leave that one, so you pick it up too. Then, just as you're straightening back up, you see a bit of leaf someone tracked in. Before you even know what's hit you, you've whipped out the vacuum and you're in full clean mode.

When this paper arrived with my Issue 49 of Creative Cardmarking magazine, the paper graphics and color seemed strong enough to stand on their own without much embellishment. I thought it would make the perfect one layer card. You know, the type of card that takes just one stamp (in my world Elvis sightings occur with more frequency then that). As is obvious, it didn't turn out that way. My itchy fingers got the better of me.

Truth is, I suppose, I'm a girly girl. I like me some frills, some frippery. Yep, that's me all right...bring on the bling!

Material

Paper Issue 49 of Creative Cardmarking, G. Lalo cardstock.
Embellishments—Folia self-stick velvet black, vintage sheer black, fabric rose, pearls.
