IBS June release designer sneak peek wind down—French Country set—and a vintage sunflower card

This is the last day of our Inspired by Stamping June release designer sneak peeks. Tomorrow you'll be able to see all the new June sets in their entirety and to purchase them in the shop. Today's set is the French Country set, my favorite of the release! This is an extremely versatile set and when you see all its stamps, you'll know exactly what I mean. Each stamp in the set multi-tasks, working well on its own, in conjunction with other stamps in the set, or to complement other IBS sets.

I used the large sunflower (tournesol in French) stamp as my focal point. I stamped it the first time on blank vintage paper, then four other times on vintage book paper. I then created a 3D look for the flower, working from back to front keeping just the petals of the flower that would be closest to me for each layer. I used foam pads to separate the layers. You could easily cut the stem and leaves from this flower and use the flower all by itself. I put a large button in the middle and tied a twine bow. The "bonjour" on the tag I created comes from the IBS French Boutique set.

The border of this card is a diamond background stamp from this set. I love the aged look of the stamp. I stamped on blank vintage paper and I am so impressed as to how truly "old" it looks! There is a lovely square stamp in this set. I masked one half of the square, stamped on vintage paper and used this half like photo corners. Aren't they just awesome?

Inside the card, I used the "Je pense à toi" (I am thinking of you) sentiment from the new Big Notes in French II set. The "Merci Beaucoup" on my card yesterday is from this same set. I used more of the masked square "photo corners" on the inside as well.

  3. Gorgeous, simply gorgeous. LOVE the sunflower made from book paper, and I love the background paper with its soft colors. Also love your "photo corners." (I performed surgery on my stamp so it could do the same thing without masking, which I usually goof up.) This is a BEAUTIFUL card, Shani!
