Crafting by Designs Guest Designer Easter Challenge and fussy cutting animal whiskers

Digital Delights Bugs of Love stamp Easter card, design by Paperesse.

It's a pleasure for me to be guest designing for today's Crafting by Designs challenge blog's Easter challenge. Click on over to see what lovely creations the design team has to share with you today and better still . . . join us by linking up!

My card uses the Bugs of Love Bunny set (stamp and sentiment) from Digital Delights by Louby Loo. I fussy cut Mr. Bunny and put him front and center over the sentiment. This is such a cute image, he'd work equally well for Valentine's Day. My paper is DCWV Citrus Cardstock Matstack, picked up on my last visit back to the States. Once again, as on this Easter Mary card, Xcut's large egg die cut on kraft cardstock and covered with a another cut on turquoise card serves as my base.

Embellishments are simple ribbons and sparkly sequins, making for a light weight, flat and therefore less expensive mailing.

*Crafty Tip* – Want to know how to easily fussy cut animal whiskers? You can't. But, I do have a solution for when you cut them off – add them back with 1mm elastic beading cord, as I've done here. Simply cut to size and glue with a little Aleene's Tacky Glue (or another clear dry adhesive). This also works for butterfly and insect antenna.

Digital Stamp – Digital Delights Bugs of Love Bunny set

  1. LOL! What a fun, happy figure you chose to use! I love that blue base and the pairing of papers and layers for the top egg! In spite of the great details of the background, the one thing that grabs my attention [as it should] is the fabulous coloring of the bunny! Can't tell you how impressed I am with your blending skills Shani - everything is so softly colored - I can mentally feel the softness!
