Vera Lane Seagulls Encouragement Card

Vera Lane Seagulls digital stamps featured on an encouragement card, colored with Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse.

As I mentioned in my last post I have some new Vera Lane digis to play with and this is the first card I'm posting with them. I have a family member who's a bit down in this moment and thought I'd do something to let her know I'm thinking of her and perhaps cheer her up, hence this humorous card featuring Vera Lane's Seagulls digis and sentiment. I used the PNG versions and layered these four digis. I masked the lines around the bottom of the wooden post so it wouldn't look as if it was in water and drew a line behind the images to ground them with a Unipin .05 black fine line pen.

The paper is from a new Craft ID As Free as the Ocean paper pad I picked up at our local grocery store. You wouldn't think you'd find such nice paper in a grocery store, but they surprise me sometimes. This is a small pad measuring 11.5cm x 16.5cm, but by layering the papers just right I was able to make them work on this 15cm square card. This is the fourth time I've used one of these starfish embellishments (here are #1 a Pisces birthday card, #2 a summer penguin birthday card, and #3 a Merry Fishmas card). I wouldn't have thought it when I bought them, but they've worked out quite well. I'm getting low, I may have to start rationing.

  9. You've created such a wonderful card, I love the fun seagull image with the fun sentiment. I certainly hope that this fun gang will be able to cheer up your friend. Your colouring is beautiful, and I like how you managed to embed the image on so many layers of different design papers - so many different patterns and shades that come together in this maritime scenery. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.
