Mother's Day Card with All Dressed Up Two Little Mice Digi

Mother's Day card with All Dressed Up Two Little Mice digi, colored with Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse.

I have the honor of guest designing today for Kleuren met Potloden (Coloring with Pencils) and have created this Mother's Day card for the occasion, featuring the sponsor All Dressed Up's sweet Two Little Mice digi.

I was so pleased with how my recent Bunny Love Valentine card turned out that I copied that design for this one. The paper is from an Artoz paper pad I picked up in an outlet a while back. I was happy to find it. Artoz is a Suisse/German brand and I rarely see any of it discounted. Enamel dots give a bit of bling. The sentiment was created with Amelie font.

If you're a pencil colorer, come play along and link up your creation! Power to the pencil!

Supply List

Masculine Birthday Card with Di's DigiStamps Champagne Time Digi

Masculine birthday card featuring Di's DigiStamps Champagne Time digi, colored with Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse.

This card was for a French friend's recent birthday. I thought he'd appreciate Di's DigiStamps Champagne Time digi (retired) as he's quite the wine/champagne connoisseur. The front Sandscript font sentiment – Nous sortons le champagne – translates to: 'We're bringing out the champagne...'. The inside sentiment says: '...pour te souhaiter un joyeux & très pétillant anniversaire !' – '...to wish you a joyful & sparkling birthday!'  I find champagne themed digis work well for my French cards and Di has had some cute ones through the years; this Drinky Paws anniversary card is a past favorite.

I especially like the Peddy's Design paper I chose for this card and colored my digi to match it.  Perfectly coordinating buttons top it all off.

Supply List
Paper – cardstock, Peddy's Design paper pad
Digital stamp – Di's DigiStamps Champagne Time
Dies – Die-namics rectangle stax
Embellishments – buttons
Font – Sandscript
Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils
Gelly Roll .08 white pen
Pentel .05 black fine line pen

Step Card Featuring Beccy's Place Cool Chicks Digi

Easter step card with Beccy's Place Cool Chicks digi & sentiment, colored with Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse.

Here's a card with another craft item I haven't used in a while – Sizzix's Baby Dresser die. The last time I used it was in 2022 as a new baby card for my great-niece's arrival. Even though this die-cutting set is supposed to be for a new baby, I've used it a lot through the years for all sorts of other occasions like Halloween, Christmas, and this Easter card. In fact, I copied that last Easter design for this card, using Beccy's Place Cool Chicks digi and punny sentiment. Just an aside here, but I discovered when looking up the link for this digi that Beccy's Place is shutting down her digital store in June. I like Beccy's digis and have quite a few; I really hate to see this.

Which brings me to another point, although I've been talking about trying to use what I have instead of buying new in my last few posts, this doesn't include digis. The fact is if we don't support (within reason of course) the digital stamp designers we like, they won't stay around. Furthermore, if I happen to find a very good buy on something that's probably going to be a little bit hard for me to resist, e.g. the new wonky stitch rectangle dies I've been wanting for the longest time and found for only €0.99 (now tell me, how could I refuse that?).

This card is going to an old friend of mine as a combo Hi/Thinking of You/Happy Easter card. Paper is Craft Sensations Lovely Flowers. I dressed it up with a button topped Toga bowtie die-cut.

Octopus Birthday Card

Ah, Whimsie Doodles digis...I sooooooo hated to see that site go out of business ( I loved the images and punny sentiments). It's been several years now, but I still miss them. Some of my past favorites when I first started using digital stamps are from Whimsie Doodles, like this Don't go Bacon My Heart card, or this Let's Get Basted Thanksgiving card (I've used that one quite a few times).

As I've already mentioned, I'm trying to use more of my craft supplies that I've never used/haven't used in a long time. This particular digi was purchased over a decade ago but never used. I thought it was time I did so I'd color it up for a quick birthday card. The sentiment was included with the digi.

Paper is from Craft ID's Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti paper pad (is that a great name or what?!). My ever faithful ric-rac die and some mat enamel dots top it all off.

Birthday Card With Di's DigiStamps Birthday Cake Buddy Digi

Birthday card featuring Di's DigiStamps Birthday Cake Buddy Digi, colored with Luminance 6901 pencils by Paperesse.

In my ongoing quest to use craft supplies I've never used/haven't used in a long time rather than buy new, I've got a birthday card for you today featuring a digi from Di's DigiStamps.  I've had this Birthday Cake Buddy digi (retired) a while now and never used him; he's a cutie so I thought it was time I did. I played up the cherries on top of the cake using the Coffee Shop blog freebie Cherry digital papers I download ten years ago (the freebie is from 2015) and never used once. These papers are still on the Coffee Shop blog site, but the link to download them doesn't seem to work anymore. Even if you can't download these though, there are lots more stunning papers on the site generously provided, so if you're in the market for some cute digital paper freebies it's worth checking out. The sentiment was created with Pea Elizabeth Ashley font (the same sentiment used on this slimline cherry card).

And this ribbon...oh my goodness, I've had this a long, LONG time, I'm guessing maybe 13  years or so, and haven't used it in years, if ever, I'm not real sure. As you can see, it still has the plastic band it came with. This was some of the first ribbon I bought when I seriously started cardmaking in 2012. I bought several of these from a store in Geneva that has since gone out of business. They're a very good quality German ribbon called Artebene and although I did a major craft supply cleanout a few years back I kept every one of these. Some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red are the touche finale.

Supply List
Paper – cardstock, Coffee Shop Blog Cherry digital freebie
Digital stamp – Di's DigiStamps Birthday Cake Buddy
Dies – Die-namics square stax
Embellishments – ribbon, Autumn Red Nuvo Crystal Drops
Font – Pea Elizabeth Ashley
Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils
Gelly Roll .08 white pen
Pentel .05 black fine line pen
