Vintage Giraffe Birthday Card

Playing along with the Deconstructed Sketch No. 66 today to create this birthday card for a friend. Or at least it started out that way, I think I deviated a bit, but the inspiration was there.

Since she likes giraffes I wanted to use one with the card. I found this image in an an old encyclopedia from the beginning of the last century. I scanned it, added a little color and sized it to fit. Everything was getting lost in all that yellow so I used 3D foam adhesives to lift the separate parts from the background. The leaves are from the Verve Sunny Days collection, cut with Leafy Sprigs die, part of an order I just received and couldn't wait to try out. I have to admit, I do so like their stamps and dies.

Material

Paper – Graphic 45 Le Cirque Bohemian Floral, Bella Blvd Sprinkles & Lace Banana, G. Lalo card stock. Stamps – Verve Small Phrases Happy Birthday, Sunny Days and Bloom and Grow. Verve dies – Ribbon Banner, Joyful Blooms and Leafy Sprigs. Flower embellishments.
