The coloring of the flowers in this week's inspirational photo are stunning, as is their texture! Don't you just want to reach right out and touch them? I know I do. To get this 'texture' feeling in my card I decided to go vintage—the real thing. The wide blue ribbon background and pompom trim are vintage Swiss trimmings. Picture someone in Swiss national costume—see all that fancy frippery, buttons and lace?—I have an enormous box of that I snapped up faster than you can say yodelayheehoo at a thrift store in Geneva a while back for CHF 10 (about $10). I love finds like that!
I used a mask to ink the time piece design on the background paper. I left all the raveling edges of the ribbon and sewed 'round the edges of the card.
The flowers are cut and layered dies from Artemio and all the edges of the paper have been run through my Zutter Distrezz it All (great little machine when you have several pieces at a time you want to distress).
Material
Paper—Mahé blue nuit, Folia cardstock, vintage sheet music
Embellishments—Swiss vintage ribbons, pearls, metal corners
Dies—Artemio flowers and scalloped oval, Die-namics ovals
Mask—Crafters Workshop mini-time travel template
Stamp—My Favorite Things
