Masculine wine tag—Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge #10

It's challenge #10 at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week it's a tag—either a tag itself or a card or project with a tag on it. When we're invited to someone's house for dinner, my husband and I will normally take flowers for the woman of the house and a bottle of wine for the gentleman. I've made this tag to dress up a bottle of wine.

It's got a vintage look and quite a few embellishments, but still retains its masculine appeal. I've used my one and only bronze key on it (sigh...). I've been saving it for a while now. The little wooden Merci was a pale wood that I darkened with distress ink.

I just bought this Aladine alarm clock stamp last week. The hands of the clock are separate stamps so you can choose the time you want it to be. I chose 8:00 as that's normally the dinner hour. I stamped the hands a second time, cut those out and adhered to the face with tiny strips of 3D tape (so they'd stand out).

The leather look cord ties the tag to the bottle and is less "girly" than a ribbon.  Before I started decorating the tag, I ran it through my printer with this sentiment on the back.

I hope you'll come play along with this week's challenge and see what the other creative ladies of the Design Team have dreamed up.

  3. Perfect tag for a perfect custom! LOVE all the embellishments, and you're right, they still retain a totally masculine flavor! I especially love the clock hands that are separate so as to customize the time. Wonderful feature!
