Celebrating the 12th day of Christmas with a Hangin' with my Gnomies card

Hangin' with my Gnomies Holiday card, by Paperesse.

Did you know that today – 5 January – is the official end to the twelve days of Christmas? That being the case, I think this holiday card featuring Whimsie Doodles' Hangin' with my Gnomies digital stamp is apropos, don't you? If you like funny stamps, give Whimsie Doodles a peak, they have some good ones (as seen on this 2015 Christmas Underwear card).

When you think about it, for millennia Christmastide was celebrated over a period of twelve days; in the long course of Christianity, it's only recently that we no longer go the full Christmas gambit. I like the holiday season, don't get me wrong, but I sure as heck wouldn't want to be celebrating every day for twelve days sans interruption. My waistline couldn't take it.

Card making though, has no calories. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've burned some calories making this card – all that coloring, cutting, and gluing. Oh, and my die-cutting machine, it's a manual one so turning that crank took effort, right? Tell me I'm right.

The Twelfth Night digital paper on this card is Marmalade from Tactile Studio. Simple buttons dress it up.

Supply List
Paper – cardstock, Tactile Studio Marmalade
Digital stamp – Whimsie Doodles Gnomies
Color – Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils
Dies – Die-namics Square stax
Embellishments – buttons

I'm linking up with: Little Red Wagon #425 – Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bells – Look What Santa Brought Me (this Marmalade digital paper was purchased as a gift to myself back in December 2014? 2015? during Tactile Studio's Christmas sale; this card is its first appearance), and Craft Rocket Challenges #44 – Winter.

  3. You are absolutely right! By my calculations somewhere between 12 to 25 calories have been burned - you go girl! The REALLY good news is that you created another great card! I love the layers on this one, the image is really delightful [love gnomes!] and your blending and shadows are spot on. Your buttons finish this design perfectly - love that touch of color, depth and texture.
