A Talented Card Making Friend

Is the coloring on these flowers awesome or what?!

One of the nicest things about blogging is the wonderful fellow cardmakers I've met. I think – and not just because I am one – that cardmakers are just some of the nicest, most thoughtful people around. In a time when people would rather send a text than take the time to even talk to you on the phone (yes, guilty as charged), it's a really exceptional person indeed who thinks enough of someone to not only procure a card and get it in the mail to you (something becoming more and more rare), but to take the time to make that card themselves! Every time I get a card in the mail from one of my talented cardmaking friends, I am struck by just how wonderful they are! Photos just do NOT do them justice.

The flowers have a 3D effect that makes them seem real!

One of these talented ladies, Ginny (see her at work on her blog RubberMAD), took me by surprise yesterday with this gorgeous card. Ginny is a master at coloring and a true inspiration. Not only did I love her vibrant flowers, but her French sentiment. 'S'en sortir sans sortir' is a play on words – the two lines sound almost the same in French – and translates to 'we're getting through it, without going out'. It's an encouragement card to give a little boost in these difficult times. I noticed on the postmark it took twenty days to reach me! Oh well, it arrived and I'm glad of that; it made my day!!! It now has pride of place in my office, where I can see it first thing when I walk in the door.
