Little Birdie birthday card

This little 13 cm² card (about 5" square) was made for a friend in the State's birthday. As postage to the States can be expensive, I didn't want anything too thick that I'd have to pay a lot extra to send. I like this size card, it's one of my favorites. Which is why I bought the new stamps I wrote about in my last post. One stamp can pretty much cover the whole card, so I can use it as a base or, since they're so lovely in their own right, as the central image. I chose to use this one as the main image. I think simple cards look best with some bright color so I accented the black with some red.

To give the stamped image more texture, I embossed it and for a bit of sparkle, I hung a single jet bead from the ribbon.

The sentiment is a free digital one from Birds Cards that I printed out and adhered with adhesive pads to make it stand out just a bit.

Material

Papers – Folia. Sentiment – Birds Cards. Stamp – Aladine stamp and embossing powder. Embellishments – Stamperia ribbon, bead.
