From One Cool Chick to Another Birthday Card

Chicks with attitude! How could I resist this Cool Chicks digital stamp set from Beccy's Place?! With five chicks and five sentiments in the set, there's plenty of sass there to create with. It's funny how we like one thing for a stamp and another in real life, isn't it? I think chick digis can be so cute (like this country music chick), but in real life I find chicks just a tad too reptilian for cuteness. Same thing for mice. Search the blog and you'll find lots of mice digis, but in real life I'd be screaming at the sight of a mouse, not saying, 'Ah...isn't he cute?!'

For a 3D effect, I colored Ms. Chick's body separately, then fussy cut, and adhered to the legs with foam pads. Paper is bits and pieces of older 30cm x 30cm design papers I've had forever and a day and didn't even bother to look up links for you because I'm sure they're long retired.

Embellishments are red ribbon and some stick-on pearls.

  1. Tee hee, this bird looks like it's being sarcastic! lol So much fun! I especially love the heart and dimension too!

  2. Gorgeous colouring Paperesse, you've done a beautiful job with the image. I love how you've layered the body of the chick for some extra dimension. The paper and card stock you chose are a fabulous combination, the rich red and warm gold compliment each other perfectly.

  3. Fun, fun, fun! Love the sentiment!

  4. Haaa, I love the attitude and of course the color combo and layout - brilliant!
