Practicing Creativity

A 2013 Creative Retrospective

I thought I'd hop up on the 2013 retrospective bandwagon and share with you some of my favorite 2013 paper projects. Each project has a link to take you back to the original post. There you can find more info and a list of materials used. So, without further ado, here are some of my most cherished 2013 creations.

I love the ribbon on this Valentine's Day card. The Inspired by Stamping label stamp and die go perfectly.

This shabby, vintage look wall hanging is a personal fav.

This card, created with Verve goodness, secured my spot on the Inspired by Stamping design team.

I love the shabby sweetness on this romantic card

This lovely lady is an original image from a 1939 French issue of Marie-Claire magazine, enhanced with stamping. More of that vintage goodness I love.

Another card using Inspired by Stamping goodies. I like the layering on this one and the French theme.

This tag won't be going anywhere. I like it so much I'm keeping it for me.

An example of what you can do with old calendar pages (a good one for this time of year). I made this mini-album/journal as a gift for my cousin.

Here's some masculine vintage goodness for you. This card uses original vintage papers, not copies, from a 1951 Bon Marché catalog.

This Easter card is a bit different than my preferred style, but I was very pleased with its bright and cheery look.

This card is probably one of my all time favorites. I like that it's shabby, and yet...not too much so. It has a certain elegance to it.

More vintage-y goodness, I so loved this mother's day card. With its nest and little baby birds image, I thought it so appropriate.

This canvas card turned out quite nice. It's a real mix of old and new. Lots and lots of vintage goodies here, right down to the ribbon and postage stamp.

This travel journal, made with an old 1921 London guide book, was a special order. If it hadn't been a custom request, I do believe I'd have kept it for myself!

I made this little mini as a gift. Again, it's more modern that I normally go, but I guess it proves you shouldn't get too comfortable with any one style. I was pleasantly surprised with its finished look.

I love this pin-up beauty. It's a heavy one though! With all these embellishments, it'd cost a pretty penny to mail.

Another mix of old images and new stamping. Oh la la! I like this one too.

This beeswax collage has found its home; it now hangs proudly on my studio wall.

This sunflower card, made with vintage paper and stamping, was a favorite. It just left my studio with a friend this week. I invited him to choose any card and he chose this one right away. I was sorry to see it go.

You never know where scraping supplies will turn up. This little mini was given to me free  during a scrap class on our summer cruise vacation. The album was very basic, but I dressed it up nicely when I got home. It made a memorable gift for my husband's birthday.

This Honey Bee card was a real winner! I was so please with how everything came together. I knew I'd been holding on to that bee charm for a reason!

I really don't have a problem with guy birthday cards. I like this one. It's colorful, yet still masculine.

This card was for a weekly challenge. Its shape is one I hardly ever make. A friend bought it. She tells me she still has it because she doesn't want to send it to anyone. That makes me feel so good.

These upcycled ice cream cups made wonderful Halloween treat holders. I like to take something you'd normally throw away and completely change its look.

I used a postcard from 1910 to make this shabby, vintage look album for my mother. I gave the main image as a Friday Vintage Freebie here.

This apple birthday card was the perfect card for my mother. She has a thing for apples. The main apple image was taken from an old German card game. It too was a Friday Vintage Freebie here

This thank-you card is colorful, but still vintage. The lovely lady in her flowered hat comes from a 1939 French fashion magazine. The design worked perfect for a gate card. It's a Friday Vintage Freebie here.

And there you have it! My 2013 favs!!!
