Christmas Card Advent Calendar #23 – Santa and the Mrs. Swim card

Today's #23 card features a free pre-colored digital topper from Dearie Dolls – Santa and the Mrs. Swim. I love this cute and funny image.

Patterned paper is a magazine freebie from long, long ago in a distant galaxy. . . oh wait, no, I'm getting confused. One of our local TV channels has been running all the Star War movies this last week. They seem to be everywhere; I can't get away from them. In the stores, it's Star Wars toys and everything else for Christmas, the Post Office has Star Wars stamps, etc. Then on our evening news they showed a collector with all the Star Wars paraphernalia going back to the very first. And this was an old guy, not a youngster (I say that, he was probably about my age – yikes!). Enough already. Personally, I prefer the very first one, and after that they all went down hill, to the point that with the last one I didn't even bother. Ditto with the current one. Now how did I get off on that? Oh well, back to the card . . .

I used one of my cheapy-but-cut-good-don't-know-the-name-of-made-in-China-bought-on-eBay banner dies to frame the image. A bit of glittery ribbon and a polka dot star serve as embellishments. The sentiment is my own creation.

Hopefully your Christmas stress is winding down and you're all ready to enjoy the next couple of days, but just in case you need it . . . may the force be with you.

Supply List
Paper – cardstock, patterned paper
Digital stamps – Dearie Dolls Santa and the Mrs. Swim
Dies – Banner die, Die-namics circle stax
Embellishments – star, ribbon

  1. LOL! You crack me up! You had both Scott and I laughing over your Star Wars bit! Scott looked at the image and said Santa was a perv. Considering our 'Me Too' climate, he is definitely taking a chance... oh no - that is his Mrs.! She is enjoying that hand on her rear! I know at my age - I do with my Mr. Look how you have me going on and on... I love the card by the way!

  2. SANTA! I guess you're also on the naughty list this year! Getting frisky with Mrs. Claus.... ;-) Such a fun card though. I adore that glittery ribbon.

Not a Star Wars fan?!? I loooooved the original movies when I was a kid. Nearly beat middlest's shoulder off when the big twist happened in (I need to look up the title....I may enjoy the movies but I'm not a fanatical fan) The Force Awakens...and we're going to see the newest one sometime soon. As for Episodes I - III....we don't talk about those. :-) I will admit the advertising campaign this time 'round has been ridiculous....anyone who wants to see it doesn't need a push and those who don't aren't going to be convinced because Bell has phones that show Star Wars on the screens or Canadian Tire has a Stormtropper toaster.

  3. That is a funny image. Love your description of the banner die. I'm not a Star Wars fan either.
