Champagne Mice Christmas/New Year card

Meilleurs Voeux Christmas/New Year card featuring Di's Digi Stamps Champagne Mice stamp, by Paperesse.
This card is the French version of a combo Christmas/New Year card. In France, many people do not send holiday cards that say 'Merry Christmas and Happy New Year' specifically, instead they send cards that say Meilleurs Voeux, a kind of two for one, blanket holiday greeting that literally translates to 'Best wishes'. Since champagne is synonymous with any French festive occasion, this Champagne Mice digital stamp from Di's Digi Stamps is infinitely appropriate. Di's stamps are some of my favorites. If you search the blog you'll see a lot of them. They seem to work well with French themes, like this Cheesy Mice on the Moon anniversary card I made for my husband, it's one of my all time top picks.

If you're thinking this card's constructed a bit wonky, you're right. The fold would have been better on the top of the card instead of the left (and would have photographed a whole heck of a lot better, too), but yours truly didn't cut it that way and I didn't want to waste the cardstock; so, left fold it is!

Paper is Tactile Studio Christmas digital paper pack. Embellishments are gold pearls and crinkled paper ribbon. The sentiment is my own creation.

  1. Love the fur coloring on your critters! And, along with the fab papers, I really like the little gold embellishments on the ribbon and on the image panel among the stars! Really nicely done my friend!

  2. Oh Shani, those little stamped mice are adorable and absolutely beautifully coloured. Your shading brings them to life. I love the papers you've used for your background. Those rich colours really compliment the colours you've used in your scene. Such a happy celebration. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  3. So super sweet! Lovely colouring and that row of pearls is the perfect touch. I kwym about side fold cards (and not wanting to waste cardstock)....so much harder to photograph! I think the photo is just great though.

  7. What a delightful "best wishes" Christmas/New Years card. The image is so beautifully coloured you forget those mice are on paper. Sweet! I loved your explanation of the "Meilleurs Voeux", sentiment and how it covers as a blanket holiday greeting. Thanks so much for sharing at our "All About Christmas" challenge at this weeks Watercooler Wednesday.
