Practicing Creativity

You Knock My Socks Off Masculine Valentine's Day Card

Happy Valentine's Day! I know it's not everyone's favorite occasion, but I've always liked it. You don't need a significant other to enjoy it. It doesn't have to be all about smarmy romance. You can practise a little self-love in however you see fit – a good movie, a good book, some chocolate, your favorite meal – whatever floats your boat.

Just like my Donut 'Hole' Lot card from last week, today's Valentine's Day card for my husband features a  digi from the now defunct Whimsie Doodles. To be honest with you, I'd forgotten I had this one. Like all my favorite Whimsie Doodles stamps, it makes me smile. It's a real shame when a digi stamp site shuts down you can't buy them anymore. There were some I'd have liked to have had and alas...there's no eBay for 'used' digis and classics like this Hangin' With My Gnomies stamp simply are no more (sigh). The paper is also from another defunct digital crafting site – Tactile Studio's Anville paper pack. I thought it was the perfect match. Embellishments are a bit of ribbon and some little hearts.

This is the 2nd outing for the no-brand slimline card die I scooped on on Amazon (the first was this vintage pocket watch birthday card). I am providing a rare link there back to Amazon for the die as I think it's a good one, at a good price. I try not to link to Amazon, it's not like they need the free press, but there are so many of these no-brand dies out there, without knowing what you're looking for, it'd be hard to find. I simply cut the die parts and mount them on a 90mm x 21.5mm card base. That will just squeak your finished card into into a letter size DL envelope.

Supply List
Paper – cardstock, Tactile Studio Anville digital paper pack
Digital stamp – Whimsie Doodles Knock My Socks
Dies – no brand slimline die, Creative Expressions Stitched Snowflake Stiplet
Embellishments – ribbon, hearts
Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers
Art-n-Fly white pen
