Meljen's Designs Kimono Bear Digi Birthday Card

Birthday card with Meljen's Designs Kimono Bear digi, colored with Caran d'Ache Luminance 6901 pencils, by Paperesse.

I've had the Meljen's Designs Kimono Bear digital stamp (retired) used on this birthday card for years and have just never got around to using it. I've had it so long it dates back to when Melissa Jenkins had her own website. The good news is if you like Melissa's digis (and she has some very cute ones) you can now find her at Whimsey Stamps. Some of my Meljen's favorites are still available, like the Beach Kitten digi on this past summer birthday card.

This card was for a friend of mine who enjoys Japanese culture and specifically kimonos; she even recently attended a class on that very subject. Unfortunately, it appears the card was lost by the French Poste and she never received it. I mailed it from the post office right around the corner from her apartment, not like it had to go too far. Phfff. When you buy a card and it gets lost you're like 'Meh, happens.' But when you've made a card, spent all that time and energy creating it, and it gets lost, then dang, you're really pissed. Not to mention the wasted €2.97 (apx $3.45) I spent on the stamp. Postage prices have really just gone through the roof, but that's a rant for another day.

Papers are Craft Universe. The sentiment was created with Monterey BT font. I dressed it up with a generic border die and some matt enamel dots.
