Vintage soccer birthday card

I found this stunning vintage book (actually one of two I found) at the Geneva flea market recently, entitled L'instruction de l'Enfant par l'Image. It doesn't have a date, but from the images inside it, I think probably around the turn of the century. The colored pictures inside these books are so bright and crisp, really just amazing. Isn't the cover just beautiful?

I scanned one of the images, manipulated it to the size I wanted and printed it out to use for the front of my husband's birthday card. He's a soccer fan and I liked this image of the boys playing "foot". The base patterned paper is from the inside cover of the book, that I copied with my printer.
