Happy 1st Day of Summer to all who are now in this season! Our little corner of France/Switzerland certainly feels like summer; we're in the midst of a serious heatwave.
And speaking of summer, my card today features a summer favorite...watermelon! It's no secret I love VLS's fruity digis e.g. these Citrus Sisters Lemon and Lime cards and now I've added a bit of watermelon to the mix (fruit salad anyone?). Although the digi and sentiment could work for just about any occasion this particular card was for my niece's birthday. Unfortunately, although I mailed it three weeks in advance thinking that was plenty of time for it to arrive, it's now a month, her birthday has passed and still no card. I'm going to give her a link to this post so she can at least see it.
The paper is bits and pieces from my scraps drawer (the watermelon motif dates back to this Porky BBQ 2017 4th of July card; I'm not sure about the others). Trimmings are some foam star stickers and enamel dots.
There was also a watermelon gazpacho recipe that came with the digi (isn't that nice?!). I printed it out, did a little coloring, then stuck it on what was left of my papers and included it with the card – it was supposed to be a little plus for my niece when she opened it (sigh).
